ALFRED, NY – The Saxon softball team won the 2022-23 Alfred University Saxon Pride Board Championship sponsored by Connors & Ferris, LLP.
 
The Connors & Ferris Saxon Pride Board measures each team's performance in each of the following categories: community service; sporting event attendance at designated games; community service; athletic achievements; academic achievements; and Saxon Nation participation.
 
The softball team scored 36,642 points for first place while the women's track & field team followed with 28,639 points and the men's lacrosse team finished third with 27,279 points.
 
"Winning the yearly pride board is such a great honor for our girls. It means they have totally embraced the idea of a true student-athlete," Head Coach Luke Wesneski said. "Not only did they have a great year in the classroom, but on the field as well. They also fully supported our other teams at Alfred and gave back to the community, that provides a safe environment for them. I am very proud of them all and looking forward to the 2023-2024 school year!"
