ALFRED, NY – For the second consecutive week, Arden Hatch (Orangevale, CA/St. Francis) has received an Empire 8 weekly award, securing Empire 8 Softball Co-Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday, as announced by associate commissioner Joe Venniro.
 
Hatch enjoyed a standout performance in the circle for Alfred University in an 8-0 win over Russell Sage College, allowing just three hits across five innings while striking out five batters. The victory for the Saxons allowed the team the right to host the Empire 8 Softball Championships for the second consecutive season. This Empire 8 weekly award marks the third of Hatch's collegiate career with AU.
 
Hatch and the Saxons will next host the Empire 8 Softball Championships, which are slated to run from May 11-13. The first game for Alfred University will take place on Thursday at 4:30 PM.
