ALFRED, NY – Following an impressive week in the circle, Arden Hatch (Orangevale, CA/St. Francis) was recognized as the Empire 8 Softball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by associate commissioner Joe Venniro.
 
Hatch helped the Saxons go 4-0 on the week, making four appearances and picking up two pitching wins. Her and her defense, against Fredonia, were one play away from a perfect game as Hatch threw the no-hitter, striking out Blue Devil batters 10 times. In total, Hatch only gave up four hits in 19.2 innings and three earned runs on the week while striking out batters 23 times.
 
Hatch and the Saxons will next host Russell Sage College in their regular season finale on Friday with games at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
