ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University softball team, after winning the Empire 8 regular season title, will host the Softball Championship Tournament on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week at Harrington Field.
 
The softball championship ticket prices have also been set:

• Adults: $6.00
• Students and Senior Citizens with ID: $4.00
• Alfred University Students, Faculty and Staff with ID: Free (Courtesy of Saxon Nation)
• Children under 12: Free

The tournament schedule will have No. 2 seeded St. John Fisher University as the home team, playing No. 3 Russell Sage College on Thursday, May 11 at 2:00pm. Following that, the No. 1 seeded Saxons will host No. 5 Elmira College, after the Soaring Eagles eliminated the No. 4 seeded Golden Flyers of Nazareth College on Tuesday, 7-5. The Saxons and Soaring Eagles play at 4:30pm on Thursday.

Friday, May 12
Game 3 – Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 – 10:00am
Game 4 – Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 –  (elimination game) -  12:30pm
Game 5 – Loser of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4 – (elimination game) -  3:00pm
 
Saturday, May 13
Game 6 – Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 5 – 12:00pm
Game 7 – Winner of Game 6 vs. Loser of Game 6 (If Necessary) – 2:30pm
 
Parking on Thursday and Friday will be available in the parking lot of the McLane Center and Joyce & Walton Family Center for Health & Wellness. On Saturday, Alfred University is hosting its Commencement Ceremonies in the athletic buildings, pushing parking for the softball games to the Alfred University Motor Pool, located just north of Harrington Field, off of Main Street.
