ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team came up short against Houghton University by a score of 9-0 on Friday afternoon at the Kerr-Pegula Field House.

In doubles action, Walker Waldon (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) and Bill Tran (Hanoi, Vietnam/Grace Christian) scored one point in their match from the No. 2 spot. 

In singles play, Mike Roberts (Alfred Station, NY/Alfred-Almond) scored four points in his first set from the No. 1 spot. Matthew Bittel (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) scored three points in his first respective set from the No.2 spot.

"Houghton is a strong team. Had to battle the elements a little bit today as well. Have to have a short memory as we get back at it tomorrow against Medaille." Head Coach Jordan Crouch said.

The Alfred University Men's Tennis team will next play host to Medaille University for their final match of the season on Saturday, April 22nd at 1PM.
