ROCHESTER, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team was defeated by Nazareth College by a score of 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.

In doubles action, Mike Roberts (Alfred Station, NY/Alfred-Almond) and Matthew Bittel (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) scored two points in their match from the No. 1 spot. 

In singles play, Mark Ungurian (Chornomorsk, Ukraine/School #6) scored four points in his second set from the No. 4 spot. Bill Tran (Hanoi, Vietnam/Grace Christian) also scored four points in his first respective set from the No.6 spot.

"Naz is a really strong program. We had to work very hard to get a few points against them. Always a great opportunity to learn and grow when playing against great players. Have to get back training hard to prepare for our final week." Head Coach Jordan Crouch said.

Alfred University will next play at Houghton University on Friday, April 21st at 4:00 PM.
