Box Score HILTON HEAD, SC - The Alfred University men's tennis team returned to action with a 5-4 win Mary Baldwin University on Tuesday night. 

Matthew Hibbert (Oswego, NY/Oswego) and Walter Waldon (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) picked up a win from No. 2 doubles. Evan Kent (Andover, NY/Andover Central) and Mark Ungurian (Chornomorsk, Ukraine School #6) combined for a No. 3 doubles win. Hibbert, Kent and Waldon all earned singles wins to clinch the victory for AU. 

"I'm so proud of the effort tonight," Head Coach Jordan Crouch said. "I'm especially proud of Matthew. There were so many close matches all around and we had enough grit to come out on top. We got to shake off the rust tonight against a strong Mary Baldwin squad. I'm so excited to get a great win. Hibbert was able to clinch the men's match for us in a tiebreaker with everyone watching."

Alfred University will next face Thomas College on Thursday at 9:00 AM.
