ROCHESTER, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team was defeated by St. John Fisher University by a score of 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Mendon Racquet and Pool Club.

Mike Roberts (Alfred Station, NY/Alfred-Almond) and Matthew Hibbert (Oswego, NY/Oswego) picked up three points from the No. 2 spot in doubles action. In singles play, Walker Waldon (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) forced a tiebreak during his second respective set. Mark Ungurian (Chornomorsk, Ukraine/School #6) and Bill Tran (Hanoi, Vietnam/Grace Christian) both scored two points in each of their first sets. 

"Today was a tough one for us. Fisher is always a very competitive program. Wasn't our finest showing but lots of things to work on and develop this week so we're ready for next weekend." Head Coach Jordan Crouch said.

Alfred University will next return home for their third Empire 8 matchup against Houghton University on Friday, March 31st at 4 PM from the William T. Brown Tennis Courts.
