GREENWOOD, IN – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced the 2023 Football Academic All-District Teams, with six members of the Alfred University football program being recognized.
The Saxons honored this year include
Nathaniel Castellanos (Hornell, NY/Pinellas Park),
TJ Marsh (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora),
JJ Mundo (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown),
Roque Santiago (Canisteo, NY/Canisteo-Greenwood),
Matt Wagner (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and
Thomas Welch (Avon, NY/Avon).
The 2023 Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Bob Rankl said. "At Alfred University, we emphasize having a great football program, but we believe academics are important as well. I'm proud of each of their efforts both on the field and in the classroom."
To qualify, a student-athlete needs to have a least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests or start in at least 66 percent of games/contests.
