ALFRED, NY – The Empire 8 named Cara Bratthauar (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg Area) the E8 Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week on Monday.
 
Bratthauar totaled 14.5 points in a tri-match at Wells College. She totaled 9.5 points from seven kills, two solo blocks and one block assist against Penn State Altoona. She added two digs in the match. Bratthauar closed out her Saturday with 5.0 points, all from kills while adding two digs.
 
She was joined in the Empire 8 listings by Steven Bidwell (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) as the Football Special Teams Player of the Week.
