ROCHESTER, NY – The Alfred University women's volleyball team dropped back-to-back matches outside of Empire 8 play on Saturday, falling in four sets to U. of Rochester and in three against Skidmore College.
 
The Saxons (10-12, 5-3 Empire 8) fell to the Yellowjackets (16-8, 0-7 UAA) 13-25, 25-22, 21-25, 13-25 in the morning match. They then fell to the Thoroughbreds (11-13, 4-4 Liberty League), 12-25, 15-25, 19-25).
 
Jamie Chun (Hilo, HI/Hilo) led the way for AU on the day, recording the only match with double-digit kills and points. She had 11.0 points from 10 kills and a service ace against Rochester and tacked on 5.0 points from four kills and an ace in the closing match.
 
Darian Ortiz (Santa Fe, NM/St. Michael's) totaled 23 digs on the day. Delaney Sims (Bogart, GA/George Walton Academy) had 21 assists against the Yellowjackets.
 
The Saxons will next close out their regular season with a tri-match on Saturday, November 4 at Wells College, facing the hosts at 5:00pm, right after taking on Penn State Altoona at 3:00pm.
