ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team recorded one point from doubles action in their 8-1 loss to St. John Fisher College on Saturday afternoon.
"We have improved so much from the start of the season," Head Coach
Jordan Crouch said. "It seems like every match we play is the best one we've had all season. That is all you can ask for as a coach. The guys are learning and getting better every single match. I can't wait to see each of the Empire 8 teams again and have some revenge."
The efforts of
Logan Cross (Olean, NY/Olean) and
David Lingenfelter (Erie, PA/Harborcreek) from No. 1 doubles got AU on the board following an 8-5 victory. In singles play,
Sam Abu-Tutu (The Bronx, NY/Validus Preparatory Academy) forced three sets from No. 5, coming up short in the second and third set.
Alfred University will next receive some well-needed rest before traveling to face Nazareth College on Friday at 4:00 PM.
