Box Score DELHI, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team recorded points in both singles and doubles action during their 7-2 loss to SUNY Delhi on Sunday afternoon.

"I was really excited about some of our players to get their first wins of the season," Head Coach Jordan Crouch said. "I can't wait to take some momentum into conference play next week!"

The Saxons (1-6) relied on Matthew Hibbert (Oswego, NY/Oswego) and Mike Roberts (Alfred Station, NY/Alfred Almond) through doubles play, as they won in 8-5 fashion from No. 2. Hibbert forced three sets from No. 4 singles for AU. David Lingenfelter (Erie, PA/Harborcreek) picked up his second singles victory of the season from No. 3, winning 6-2, 6-1.

Alfred University will next open Empire 8 competition when they travel to face Utica University next Sunday with matches beginning at 1:00 PM.
