ALFRED, NY – Alfred University has officially ended its masking policy with it going into effect on Friday evening at 5:00pm.
 
As of Friday evening, Alfred University will shift to a mask-optional policy for all indoor areas except for those areas classified as health care facilities. In athletics, the Gene Castrovillo '75 Athletic Training Room and Mena '73 & Rick '75 Hansinger Family Physical Rehabilitation Center are designated health care facilities and the wearing of masks is still mandatory in those areas.
 
Students and staff who are unvaccinated are also required to wear their masks at all times while indoors. Unvaccinated students will also need to participate in mandatory weekly testing.
 
For fans, Alfred University Athletics will not require masking during events on our campus but encourages social distancing. Those who wish, may still wear their masks. Fans traveling to events away from AU's campus should be aware of other venues' masking policies.
