ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University softball team and men's lacrosse team are teaming up to organize a charity drive on Saturday, October 29 to collect stuffed animals as well as an assortment of toys to be donated to the Toys for Tots program.
Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
Fan are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal and/or new toy to Saturday's Empire 8 football game as the Saxons will host the Red Dragons of SUNY Cortland at 1:00pm at Yunevich Stadium, aka The Pit. Fans who bring in one toy will get one free ticket into Saturday's game (children six years of age and below are free either way). At halftime, the public address announcer will make an announcement for everyone to get ready with their stuffed animals to toss into The Pit where they will be collected by members of the Alfred University men's lacrosse and softball teams.

Arden Hatch (Orangevale, CA/St. Francis) said. "It's a great way to get everyone involved to give back through a great charity."
Current pricing for regular season home football games is:
- Adults: $5
- Senior Citizens: $3
- Non-Alfred University Students: $3
- Alfred University Students/Staff/Faculty (with valid AU I.D. card): FREE
- Children 6 Years or Younger: FREE

Both the softball and men's lacrosse teams will also have collection areas for the toys that won't be thrown on the field at Saturday's game as well.
