GENESEO, NY – The Alfred University men's cross country team competed against 35 teams with 24 of them able to score as a team on Saturday morning during the Annual Mike Woods Invitational, with the Saxons finishing 23
rd.
AU ran a time of 157:28.0 during the 8K race on Saturday, hosted by SUNY Geneseo.
Max Rasilla (Moraga, CA/Midland) led the way with a time of 29:47.5, finishing 136
th out of the 373 runners who competed in the 41
st hosting of the large invitational.
Yuner Sesmas (Apollo, PA/Kiski Area) led a pack of Saxon runners to follow Rasilla. He finished 146
th with a time of 30:54.4. Behind him was
Kevin Flint (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford) with a time of 31:19.7 in 148
th place, followed by
Finnegan Dean (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam Central) in 152
nd place with a time of 31:53.3.
Nick Erickson (Falconer, NY/Falconer Central) rounded out the scoring Saxons with a time of 33:33.1 for 157
th place.
Dean's time was over a minute faster than his mark at the Penn State Behrend Invitational, while Erickson was 25 seconds faster than the PSB race.
The Saxons will next race at Houghton University on Saturday, October 8 as the final tune-up before the Empire 8 Championships on October 29 at the Highlanders' course.
