ALFRED, NY – Alfred University Director of Athletics, Paul Vecchio, has been elected to chair the NCAA Division III Region III Women's Soccer Regional Advisory Committee as well as the Second Vice President of the Empire 8.
 
In his new role with Region III Women's Soccer Advisory Committee, Vecchio is also on the National Committee that both oversees the national tournament and also works to better the sport in terms of rules and growth. He will serve in this capacity until his term ends on August 31, 2025.
 
"I am honored to represent Alfred University on the women's soccer national committee and to serve the NCAA in this most worthwhile assignment," Vecchio said. "It's a great honor to be selected to represent Region III, which always features some of the best women's soccer being played anywhere in the country, and to have the chance to advocate for deserving student-athletes and coaches across all of Division III women's soccer."
 
Vecchio's new second role as the Empire 8 Second Vice President will be to assist the Empire 8 Commissioner, Chuck Mitrano as well as newly announced First Vice President, Sandy Augstein-Collins of Russell Sage College in the day-to-day  business of the Empire 8 as needed. His Second Vice President opportunity is marked to last for two academic years.
