ALFRED, NY – Junior Allison O'Toole (Simi Valley, CA/Simi Valley) was named the Empire 8 Softball Player of the Week on Monday in an official announcement by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
O'Toole helped the Saxons pick up six wins last week as she hit an impressive .571 batting average, going 12-for-21 with eight RBI with only one double, making the rest all singles. She crossed home plate four times herself to finish the week with attributing to a total of 12 scores. On the bases, O'Toole stole base four times including a season-high of two against Russell Sage College. Her top scoring game was the nightcap against Houghton College in which she had four RBI and one run. Defensively, O'Toole only had one error on 20 chances with eight putouts and 11 assists.
 
O'Toole and the Saxons will next close out their regular season with a road, non-conference double-header at Ithaca College on Thursday, May 6 at 3:00pm. She was joined by Holly Passetti (Nichols, NY/Tioga Central) as the Women's Track Athlete of the Week and Justin Mosher (Hilton, NY/Hilton) as the Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday.
