Athletics Raised Over $25,000 in Inaugural Saxon Nation Raffle

ALFRED, NY – Alfred University Athletics is proud to announce that it raised $25,494 during its inaugural semester-long Saxon Nation Raffle, which concluded on Saturday, April 24 during the intermission of the softball doubleheader against St. John Fisher College.

Of the $25,494 raised, 90 percent of the funds raised will directly help Alfred University's 22 programs with day-to-day expenses, with the remaining 10 percent going to Saxon Nation, an organization which supports the Alfred University's Athletic Department in its goal to enrich the student-athlete experience.

There were three prizes for the raffle winners, all Amazon gift cards, which were provided by Saxon Nation funding. The prizes included a $250 card for third place, a $750 card for second place, and a $1,000 card for the grand prize. The raffle winners are as follows: Dee Dee Eaton earned the third prize, Lee Faes was the second prize winner, and Sue Callahan took the grand prize.

"This year's raffle was a huge success due to the buy-in from our coaches and athletes and the willingness to help from friends and families of AU Athletics," said volleyball head coach Dakota Pruiss, who organized the raffle. "As almost all of the earnings go directly to our individual sports programs, we want to thank all of the participants who donated. This annual fundraising event will help all of us make huge strides to providing quality experiences for our student-athletes!"
