ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's volleyball team earned another Empire 8 Weekly Award as senior
Sarah Raeman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) was named the Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Raeman had back-to-back matches with double-digits kills and points as she had a season-high 13 kills and season-high two aces for a season-high 15.0 points in the Saxons' first three-set win over Elmira College in school history and first single match sweep since 1993 (back when volleyball was best of three sets and not five). Raeman then had 10 kills and one block assist for 10.5 points in a five-set, non-conference loss to Elmira. Raeman's first match was a collegiate career-high of .632 hitting average as she only had one error on 19 attacks.

Ana Ion (Bucharest, Romania/Episcopal School of Jacksonville) earning Field Athlete of the Week, women's lacrosse's
Brenna Turner (Bentonville, AR/Bentonville) earning Player of the Week, men's lacrosse's
Scott Kimiecik (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) earning Goalie of the Week and softball's
Ashley Lugo (Hesperia, CA/Oak Hills) and
Jessica Wilcox (Forestville, NY/Pine Valley) earning both Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Both Wilcox and Raeman were the Saxons of the Week as well.

Raeman and the Saxons will next look towards the first round of the Empire 8 Tournament on Tuesday, April 20 with their opponent still yet to be determined.
