ALFRED, NY – The Empire 8 selected Brenna Turner (Bentonville, AR/Bentonville) of the Alfred University women's lacrosse team as the E8 Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week as made official in an announcement by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro on Monday afternoon.
 
Sophomore Turner had a game-high nine goals in the tight, overtime loss to Houghton College. She had four or more goals than every other player on the evening and tied a game-high 14 shots with a game-high 12 on goal. Turner was 2-for-4 from free position while adding two draw controls and a ground ball.
 
Turner was joined on Monday by the announcement of softball's Ashley Lugo (Hesperia, CA/Oak Hills) earning Player of the Week and Jessica Wilcox (Forestville, NY/Pine Valley) earning Pitcher of the Week, women's track & field's Ana Ion (Bucharest, Romania/Episcopal School of Jacksonville) earning Field Athlete of the Week and men's lacrosse's Scott Kimiecik (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) earning Goalie of the Week.
 
Turner and the Saxons will next head to St. John Fisher College for an Empire 8 contest on Tuesday, April 13 at 7:00pm.
