ROCHESTER, NY – The Alfred University men's cross country team finished fourth in the Second Annual Cardinal Terry Rodenbeck Invitational on Friday, topping Utica College in last place.

Sophomore
George Mecca (Derby, NY/Eden) and junior
Kyle Jenkins (Marcellus, NY/West Genesee) had a close finish with a Houghton runner. Mecca crossed the finish line in 18
th place with a time of 22:14.8. Right behind him was the Houghton runner with a time of 22:18.2 and Jenkins with a time of 22:18.8 for 20
th place. The Saxons scored a total of 116 points, defeating Utica College's 149 points.
"After much anticipation we were happy to get out on the course," Head Coach
Matt Phillips '10 said. "With an abrupt transition from indoor to cross country it was a tough battle but the Saxons were able to run well and compete. Despite the weather some people were able to pull personal bests."

Kyle Full (Akron, NY/Akron) was next to cross the finish line in 25

rd overall) place with a time of 22:55.2.
Gavin Wilbert (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and
Kevin Flint (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford) crossed the finish one right after the other. Wilbert ran a 23:43.0 for 26
th (35
th overall) place and Flint ran a 23:45.1 for 27
th (37
th overall) in the 6k race.

Ethan Billings (Kendall, NY/Kendall Jr/Sr) were behind Flint, Wilbert and Full as they finished 28
