ALFRED, NY – Gabriel Trimbur joins the Alfred University Athletics staff as the Assistant Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach.

"The vision, shared by the athletes and staff, promotes academic and athletic excellence and I look forward to chasing success as part of a dedicated team."
 
Prior to joining the Saxon cross country and track & field coaching staff, Trimbur spent two years at Saint Martin's University in Washington as the Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach. He coached three athletes to school records in the mid-distance event group. Outside of cross country and track & field, he wrote strength & conditioning plans aimed at reducing injury while increasing power and flexibility, managed team travel arrangements, organized recruiting visits and kickstarted the programs' fundraising efforts.
 
Before Saint Martin's, Trimbur was the Assistant Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Seattle University, coaching middle and long-distance runners. During his stay, he also designed promotional videos, posters and social media for the Day of Giving fundraising event. While at Seattle University, Coach Trimbur was an Outfitter, Training Program Coordinator and Marketing Manager for Fleet Feet Seattle, a running-specific franchise for the retail of running shoes, apparel and accessories while also organizing running events in Seattle. He oversaw training groups of 50 to 100 runners while designing programs for individual development. Six of those individuals qualified for the Boston Marathon while others competed not only nationally, but internationally as well.

"His experience will be an asset as we continue to build, especially with the Saxon Hill Sports Complex coming online in the near future. Gabriel will also be a great mentor and leader for our young men and women here at AU. We are very excited for him to start working with our teams."
