ALFRED, NY – First-year Alyssa Piechota (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) was tabbed as the Empire 8 Women's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week on Monday in an announcement from Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Piechota picked up her first collegiate win as she faced 22 shots (15 on goal) and stopped 10 from finding the back of the net in the 10-5 win over Wells College. She also picked up a game-high six ground balls.
 
Piechota and the Saxons will next host Sage Colleges on Saturday, March 27 at 2:00pm. Piechota was joined on Monday with the announcement of Garrette Briggs (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) of the men's lacrosse team being the Empire 8 Player of the Week.
