Saxons Take Down Moravian College on the Road

BETHLEHEM, PA – The Alfred University men's lacrosse team improved to 3-2 on the season with a 14-11 victory on the road at Moravian College on Monday afternoon.
 
 
Paul Forte (Greece, NY / Greece Athena) led the offensive attack with four total points on the day, including three goals and an assist.
 
 
The Saxons took an early 3-0 lead before giving up four straight goals to the Greyhounds and ending the first quarter trailing 5-4.
 
 
AU picked up it's pace of play in the second quarter and outscored Moravian 5-2 in the period to take a 9-7 halftime lead.
 
 
Drew Cartwright (Elmira, NY / Elmira) scored a pair of goals in the third quarter to make it a 12-8 lead for Alfred heading into the fourth.
 
 
The Saxons added two more insurance goals in the final 15 minutes of play and limited the Greyhound offense to come away with the close non-conference win.
 
 
Cartwright added an assist to his two goal performance while defensive standout, Shane Weber (Hull, MA / Hull), showed his offensive skills and put away two goals for the Saxons.
 
 
Kevin Bragaglia (Holbrook, NY / Sachem North) and Noah Germano (Webster, NY / Webster Schroeder) each had a goal and an assist while Kaelen Winkky (Horseheads, NY / Horseheads) finished with two assists.
 
 
Garrette Briggs (Horseheads, NY / Horseheads), Zack Gibaud (Greece, NY / Greece Athena), Jason Berardicurti (Rochester, NY / Penfield), Noah Soriano (Nyack, NY / Nyack) and Connor DiDomineck (Bath, NY / Haverling) all had one goal.
 
 
The Saxons will continue its string of road games as they travel to SUNY Geneseo this Thursday at 4PM.
