Box Score OSWEGO, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team defeated Oswego State, 5-4 on Tuesday evening on the road.
The Saxons (2-0, 0-0 Empire 8) ended their own fall schedule with a perfect record as they defeated Pitt-Bradford earlier in September.

Ryan Brown (Olean, NY/Olean) and
Logan Cross (Olean, NY/Olean) picked up an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles for the Saxons' lone point in the opening three matches. The duo also won their singles matches. Cross took a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 while Brown won, 6-0, 7-5, 10-8 at No. 2.
Reeder Bruffey (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) took a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4 to bring it to a 4-3 match in favor of Alfred University.
Oswego tied the match, 4-4 with a win at No. 6 singles.
Wes Dennison claimed the match-clinching point for his first of his collegiate career with a 3-6, 6-1, 10-5 win at No. 5 singles.
The Saxons will next prepare for their main-portion of their schedule in the spring of 2020.
