KEUKA PARK, NY – The Alfred University men's soccer team was on the road Wednesday evening for a non-conference matchup with Keuka College. The Saxons (2-5, 0-0 Empire 8) were defeated by the Wolves by a score of 3-0.
AU had difficulty finding opportunities throughout the match as they ended with just two shots on goal.
The first half was a close, defensive contest with both teams staying scoreless into the halftime break.
Some huge saves from
Ben Middlemiss (Montclair, NJ / Montclair) kept the game tied for the first 45 minutes of play.
The tables turned in the second half with Keuka breaking through just six minutes in.
An opportunity arose for Alfred when
Andrew Carrillo Macias (Reno, NV / North Valley) took a shot on goal but that attempt was smothered by the Keuka goalkeeper.
The Wolves added another goal minutes later and then a third late in the second half to come away with the 3-0 win.
The Saxons will open conference play this Saturday on the road at Nazareth College. That one will kick off at 1PM.
