CRESTON, PA – Junior Reeder Bruffey (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) led the Saxons with two wins on the day in a 3-6 loss to Mount Aloysius on the road Saturday.
 
Bruffey paired with fellow junior John Papin (Rochester, NY/The Harley School) at #3 doubles, taking the final point out of doubles play in the Saxons favor. However, AU trailed 1-2 heading into singles.
 
Bruffey and senior Peter Smock (Prattsburgh, NY/Prattsburgh) took home the only singles wins for the Saxons. Smock squared off with Cole Kamierczyk at #2 singles, dominating the match to a 6-2, 6-2 win. Bruffey grabbed the last point of the day for the Saxons at #6 singles, taking the match 6-3, 6-2.
 
"It was a good first match for us today," Head Coach Jordan Crouch said. "Great to the progress of the team and we're going to use this match to learn from and be better prepared next time."
 
The Saxons hit the road next on March 5, 2019 when they travel to Rochester, NY to take on the Tigers of RIT.
