Box Score  OLEAN, NY – The Alfred University women's tennis team (2-1, Empire 1-0) swept their way to a 9-0 victory against Pitt-Bradford on Friday evening.

Lauren Boshart (Oswego, NY/Oswego) and
Inda Gillett (South Kortright, NY/Delaware Academy Central) opened the match with a dominant 7-2 in at #1 doubles before both #2 and #3 doubles teams won their matches 7-5. The duo of
Kourtney Keys (East Concord, NY/Springville) and
Nicolle Morales-Torres (Willimantic, CT/Windham) earned their first win of the young season at #3 doubles.

The Saxons led the Panthers 3-0 heading into singles play.

Boshart extended the AU lead when she won 6-2, 6-0 at #2 singles. Gillett sealed the match early with AU's fifth win of the evening 6-3, 6-1 at #1 singles.
Miranda Sakala (Olean, NY/Olean) went on to win at #3 singles 6-2, 6-4 marking the final match the two teams would play before the Panthers forfeited #4 through #6 singles.

The women's tennis team looks to earn its third consecutive win on Saturday when the Saxons travel to Oneonta, NY to take on the Hawks of Hartwick College at 12PM.
