Box Score HOBOKEN, NJ – The Alfred University women's tennis team (5-4, Empire 8 4-1) dropped its first Empire 8 matchup of the 2018 season to Stevens, 1-8, on the road Saturday afternoon.
 
The Saxons fell 3-0 following doubles play despite battles at #1 and #3 doubles, both of which played to an 8-3 loss.
 
Sophomore Lauren Boshart (Oswego, NY/Oswego) earned the Saxons sole win in the match, taking #3 singles 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (14-12). Junior Nurila Kambar (Almaty, Kazakhstan/Republic Physics and Mathematics School) fought in a tough match at #4 singles, falling 7-6 (7-5), 6-1.
 
The Saxons are back on the court on Wednesday when they play host to the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College at 4PM in Alfred, NY.
