ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team (2-9, 2-4 Empire 8) fell in straight sets to St. John Fisher College in Empire 8 play on Tuesday, 9-0.
 
The Saxons traveled to Rochester, NY on Tuesday and fell to the Cardinals despite a battle at #1 doubles. Senior Kevin Volz (Olean, NY/Olean) and first year Ryan Brown (Olean, NY/Olean) battled to a 7-8 (0) loss at #1 doubles.
 
Senior Mike Wisniewski (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville East) worked to a 4-6, 4-6 defeate at #2 singles for the Saxons.
 
"Even with a loss, the guys kept their spirits high throughout the match," Head Coach Mike Graham added. "I am definitely excited to see what they bring to the court on Friday and Saturday."
 
AU returns home on Friday to continue on in Empire 8 play as it takes on Nazareth College at 4PM.
