Jason Lockner became the winningest coach in program history, earning his 86
th win at Alfred University in a 20-8 rout of the Crusaders in the Saxon's final Spring Break contest.

th win while leading the Saxons, surpassing Al Brown (85) on the all-time wins list.

Junior
Joe Fornataro (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) led the Saxons for the third consecutive game, netting four goals. Junior
Kyle Landrigan (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) scored a career-high three goals and five points (two assists) while senior
Jake Lynch (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) added a hat trick. Junior
Frank Gavigan (Yorktown, NY/Yorktown), sophomore
Jake McNaney (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) and first year
Connor Prunoske (Elmira, NY/Elmira) all scored two goals each.

Senior
David LaSpina (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) led AU with three assists while Landrigan and sophomore
Garrette Briggs (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) chipped in with two assists each. Briggs also dominated the faceoff "x", winning 20-of-21 (95.2%) attempts. Entering the game, he was ranked eighth in the nation in faceoff winning percentage (77.6%). Briggs also collected 14 groundballs to lead the team. He was ranked 14
th in the nation in groundballs per game (9.5) prior to the matchup.

"Our faceoff unit continues to dominate which is feeding into the success of our transition game," Lockner said. "Frank [Gavigan] is playing extremely well right now which solidifies that group."

Sophomore
Shane Weber (Hull, MA/Hull) and Fornataro led the team with two caused turnovers each. Five other AU players added a caused turnover to the scoresheet. Weber also accumulated five groundballs.

The Saxons wasted no time taking an early 5-2 advantage over the Crusaders in the opening quarter. AU put the game out of reach in the second quarter, scoring four goals while shutting out their opponents. At the intermission the Saxons held a 9-2 advantage.

Briggs and Landrigan continued the run in the opening minute of the third quarter before the Crusaders scored again, bringing the game to 11-3. The Saxons coasted through the second half en route to a 20-8 victory.

Four goalies made appearances for the Saxons, with senior
Chris Doktor (Irondequoit, NY/Eastridge) earning the win along with grabbing two saves. Fellow senior
Chris Bucciarelli (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) led the goalkeeping corps with three saves in the game. Junior
Brandon Smith (Queens, NY/The Governor's Academy) nabbed two saves while sophomore
Ben Yonko (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) had one save.
"Everybody got in today," Lockner added. "I'm very happy with having the opportunity to do that as well as earn a great win. Our guys played really hard all week and I'm proud to head home with three wins."

AU dominated every facet of the game, holding an advantage in shots (57-26), shots on goal (39-16), groundballs (47-29) and faceoff wins (25-6).Â

The Saxons return home next week to take on nonconference opponent Ohio Northern University on Saturday March 17 at 1PM in Yunevich Stadium.
