"The effort today was outstanding. I'm pretty happy with these guys' effort," Head Coach Jason Lockner said. "We just turned the ball over too much. We got a little bit of the injury bug and it plays a little bit into so some guys were asked to do some things. If we can take care of the ball, we'll be in good shape."

Alfred was led defensively by Weber as he had six groundballs while junior Frank Gavigan (Yorktown, NY/Yorktown) added four groundballs.  Weber and sophomore Ben Cafolla (Seneca Falls, NY/Mynderse Academy) tied for a team-high four caused turnovers while sophomore Jordan Lockridge (Albany, NY/The Albany Academies) added three caused turnovers.

Senior goalkeeper Drew Gardner (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) went the distance in net, making nine saves.

The Saxons are next in action this Saturday, March 31, as they host Hartwick College in and Empire 8 tilt at 1 PM.
