HOBOKEN, NJ – The Alfred University women's basketball lost to Stevens Institute of Technology Friday evening, 96-53.

The Saxons (2-19, 0-12 Empire 8) were led by sophomore
Bri Hicks (Burlington, VT/Ithaca) with 14 points and eight rebounds (four offense, four defense). First-year guard
Lyndsey McCoy (Middleburgh, NY/Middleburgh Central) added 10 points off the bench.

The Ducks opened the game finding some offense, going on a 10-0 run before junior guard
Katlyn Boland (New York, NY/A. Phillip Randolph) found Hicks to knock down the jumper to end the run. Stevens was able to extend their lead to 12 before sophomore forward
Sam Pierre-Louis (Wheatley Heights, NY/Half Hollow Hills West) knocked down two straight shots to cut the score to 16-8 with 5:32 to play in the first. Stevens pushed their lead to nine before Hicks converted both of her free-throw attempts to make it 21-14 with just over a minute to go in the first. Stevens closed out the quarter, taking a 25-14 lead into the second quarter.

The Ducks were led
Christina Li with 28 points and
Maddi Hahn with 19 points, respectively.

Stevens held the slight advantage in points in the paint (26-22) as well as second chance points (13-12).

The Saxon next are in action tomorrow, February 10, as they take on the Gators of The Sage Colleges at 4 PM.
