ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University football team moved up three spots and are now ranked 20
th in the D3football.com national rankings.

AU (3-0, 1-0 Empire 8) made the move up following Saturday's 45-7 Homecoming victory over Rochester.

The Saxons have gone up and down the D3football.com rankings this season, holding the 21
st spot to begin the year and retaining that spot after a season-opening win at Ithaca. AU moved up to 19
th after an idle Sept. 9 weekend; dropped four spots to 23
rd after a Sept. 16 win over visiting Utica; before rising back up to its current position.

AU was ranked 17
th in the initial American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll, which came out last week.

The Saxons are in action next on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. at home against Empire 8 Conference foe Buffalo State. The Bengals received one vote in this week's D3football.com poll.
