FREDONIA, NY – The Alfred University women's tennis team fell to Fredonia on the road on Tuesday evening, 0-9.

The Saxons (0-5, 0-3 Empire 8) were led in doubles by juniors Rachel Pera (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) and Kourtney Keys (East Concord, NY/Springville) as they won the most games but still fell to Fredonia's No. 3 doubles team, 3-8.

"Rachel had a very exciting match," head coach Mike Graham said. "She has not played a singles match this year but she really held her own."

In singles, Pera played at No. 6 singles and fell 5-7 (7), 6-7 (3). First-year Lauren Boshart (Oswego, NY/Oswego) won the second-most games as she dropped a 4-6, 1-6 decision to Fredonia's No. 5 player.
