PITTSFORD, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to host Nazareth College in an Empire 8 Conference match Wednesday afternoon.
 
AU (2-4, 0-2 Empire 8) got a pair of singles wins: from senior Kevin Volz (Olean, NY/Olean), 1-6, 6-1, 7-5 in first singles; and senior Patrick Brown (Olean, NY/Olean), 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 in fourth singles.
 
Sophomore Peter Smock (Prattsburgh, NY/Prattsburgh) teamed with junior Mike Wisniewski (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville East) for the Saxons' lone doubles win, 8-4 in second doubles.
 
AU plays next on Saturday, April 8, at 8:30 a.m. at home against Stevens.
