ELMIRA, NY – Forward
Amanda Off (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley) continued the strong finish to her senior season with a game-high 26 points as the Alfred University women's basketball team fell at Elmira College, 68-59, in an Empire 8 Conference contest Tuesday evening.

The Saxons (3-21, 1-14 Empire 8) held a 16-14 lead at the end of the first quarter before the Soaring Eagles took over in the second . First-year guard
Jamie Wilcox (Forestville, NY/Pine Valley) finished with 14 points and added five assists. First-year guard
Demetria Woodard (Macedon, NY/Rueben A. Cirillo) had a solid performance coming off the bench with six points, five rebounds and four assists.
Off's 26 points follow a three-game stretch last week in which she averaged 21 points.

The Soaring Eagles were led by
Rachel Vespucci who had a near double-double with 25 points and nine rebounds.
Lindsey Heaton added 17 points while
Danielle Cleary chipped in nine points and grabbed nine rebounds. Elmira was solid from the free throw line going 9-for-9 in the first half and 20-for-29 for the game.

The Saxons wrap up the 2016-17 season on Saturday, Feb.18, as they travel to Houghton College to take on the Highlanders at 2 p.m.
