ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's basketball team lost to visiting Utica College 66-62 in the home season finale at the Terry S. Galanis Family Arena Saturday afternoon.

The Saxons (9-14, 6-8 Empire 8) were led by senior
Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) who finished with 17 points and added two assists. Sophomore guard
Dom LeMorta (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) chipped in 11 points including two three-pointers. LeMorta grabbed three rebounds and had two dimes. Sophomore forward
Sage Brown (Cortland, NY/Cortland) set a new career best in rebounds as he finished with 12. Alfred once against capitalized on transition scoring, outscoring Utica, 13-8.

The Pioneers were led by
Bennito Ayarza who had a game-high 24 points (five rebounds, 4 assists) and
Ivan Iton who finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Ayarza hit his three-point shot with 1:55 remaining in regulation to put Utica out front for good. Utica took advantage in the paint, outscoring Alfred, 34-26.

th, as they travel to Houghton College with tip-off scheduled for 8 p.m.Â
