FREDONIA, NY – The Alfred University men's soccer team fell to host SUNY Fredonia Tuesday evening in overtime, 2-1.

The Saxons (3-6-1, 2-0-1 Empire 8) got off to a fast start as junior forward
Alexander Tostanoski (Corning, NY/Corning Painted-Post) was able to connect with senior forward
Cody Cronmiller (Livonia, NY/Livonia) in the 10
th minute for the game's first goal.

"It was a great game against Fredonia, the team played excellent in the first half," said head coach
Tracy Blake. "The second half was very similar to the first and our first-years came in and played very well.

The Blue Devils were able to get the equalizer in the 43
rd minute as
Conrad Rathbun capitalized on the feed from
Pa Lu. Pa Lu scored the game winning goal in the 92
nd minute off the assist from
Noah Gittlemen.

The Blue Devils held the slight advantage in shots with 18 (nine on goal) to the Saxons 15 (seven on goal). Fredonia also held the advantage in corner kicks, 10-4.

Alfred completes its four-game road trip this Saturday, October 7
th, as they take on host Nazareth College in Empire 8 play at 3 p.m.
