BROCKPORT, NY – The Alfred University women's volleyball team dropped its final regular season solo match on Wednesday evening at The College at Brockport in non-conference action, 3-0.

The Saxons (5-16, 3-3 Empire 8) fell in set scores of 13-25, 18-25, 13-25. Sophomore outside hitter
Amber Smith (Penfield, NY/Webster Schroeder) led the team with 7.0 points from seven kills and added a team-best eight digs.
"Our goal tonight was to go out and compete on every single point," Head Coach
Dakota Pruiss said. "We knew Brockport was going to be a tough opponent and we wanted to take the opportunity to play some high-level volleyball. Character wise,
Sarah Raeman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) stepped forward as a leader through her presence and demeanor. I'm proud of her for that."
Senior setter
Aubrey Totsline (Fairport, NY/Fairport) finished with 16 assists, four digs and one kill.

Brockport was led by
DeAnna Whittemore's 12.0 points, all from kills.
Maddy Taylor had 11 digs and
Rachel Fiser added 22 assists as the Golden Eagles' stat leaders. Both Lindsey Luce and Elena Grossman had three block assists for the host as well.

The Saxons will next look to the weekend for the Alfred Tournament. The tournament is a two-day event with the Friday evening matches being held across the street at Alfred State College. Alfred University will take on Houghton College at 3 pm in non-Empire 8 play. Then, they face Messiah College at 7 pm. On Saturday, the Saxons host the final day of the Alfred Tournament in the Terry S. Galanis Family Arena. They first match is at 10 am against Lynchburg College and then they round things out with Lycoming College at 4 pm.

The Lycoming match is also the Saxons' Senior Day where Totsline,
Heather D'Andrea (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep), Maddison VanEtten (Harpursville, NY/Harpursville Central) and
Jacquelynn Hicks (Greenville, NY/Greenville) will be honored for their careers in the purple and gold.
