ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's basketball team lost an 88-64 decision to visiting Nazareth College in an Empire 8 Conference contest Friday evening in the Galanis Family Arena.
 
Senior forward 
Amanda Off (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley) led AU (2-9, 0-2 E8) with a team-high 20 points and seven rebounds. First-year guard 
Jaime Wilcox (Forestville, NY/Pine Valley) added 17 points, four assists and a game-high six steals for the Saxons.
 
First-year guard 
Demetria Woodard (Macedon, NY/Rueben A. Cirillo) netted 10 points and five rebounds for AU, while first-year guard 
Jessica Wilcox (Forestville, NY/Pine Valley) added six points.
 
Sam Sorge tallied a game-high 23 points to go with six rebounds and three steals to pace Nazareth (5-5, 1-0 E8). 
Samantha Peebles scored 21 points and pulled down six boards and 
Rachel Benedict chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds.
 
Alfred is in action next on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 2 p.m. when the Saxons host Empire 8 foe St. John Fisher.
