ROCHESTER, NY – Freshman guard Sam Dagon (Hornell, NY/Hornell) led the Alfred University men's basketball team with a career-high 18 points in an 83-65 Empire 8 Conference loss at Nazareth College Saturday afternoon.
 
Dagon shot 7-of-11  from the field and converted both of his free throw attempts. Junior forward Dalton Cousin (Sherrill, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) also scored in double figures as he finished with 10 points. Senior forward Eric Adams (Readington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) was active on the glass as he collected eight rebounds. With the loss, AU falls to 7-11 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
 
Nazareth was paced by Tyler Stenglein with a game-high 21 points. Brandon Wind and Jake Burgio both finished with 14 points, with Burgio adding 14 rebounds.
 
The Saxons are in action again on Friday, Feb, 3, at 8 p.m. at home against Ithaca College.
