CLARION, PA – The Clarion (PA) University women's tennis team defeated visiting Alfred University, 7-2, Tuesday afternoon.

Alfred won one singles match and one doubles match as the Saxons fell to 2-8 on the season. Sophomore Nurila Kambar (Almaty, Kazakhstan/Republic Physics and Mathematics School) won sixth singles, 6-3, 6-0, while freshmen Miranda Sakala (Olean, NY/Olean) and Amber Smith teamed to take third doubles, 8-5.

AU is in action next on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at home against Empire 8 foe Elmira College.
