HOBOKEN, NJ -- The Alfred University women's tennis team fell, 8-1, to host Empire 8 Conference foe Stevens Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon.

Alfred's lone point came in first doubles, where freshman Tori Pellegrino (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and sophomore Emma Siemer (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) claimed an 8-6 decision.

The Saxons (0-3, 0-2 Empire 8) play next on Monday, Sept. 12, at 3 p.m. at home against Fredonia.
