HOUGHTON, NY -- Host Houghton College defeated the Alfred University men's tennis team, 7-2, in an Empire 8 Conference matchup Friday afternoon.

Alfred (5-13, 2-4 Empire 8) won a pair of singles matches. Senior Connor Doud (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) took first singles, 6-3, 6-3, and junior Patrick Brown (Olean, NY/Olean) won fifth singles, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

AU is in action next on Saturday, April 30, at 1 p.m. at St. John Fisher. The Saxons wrap up their regular season on Sunday, May 1, at 1 p.m. at home against Nazareth.
