ERIE, PA – The Alfred University men's tennis team dropped a close 5-4 decision to host Penn State-Behrend Sunday afternoon.
 
Alfred (0-6) split six singles matches. Senior Connor (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) won first singles, 5-7, 6-4, 10-2; senior Kevin Volz (Olean, NY/Olean) took fourth singles, 6-4, 6-1; and junior Patrick Brown (Olean, NY/Olean) claimed a win in fifth singles, 6-2, 3-6, 11-9.
 
Doud and senior Matt Baloga (Goshen, NY/Goshen) won the Saxons' lone doubles match, taking first doubles 8-6.
 
Alfred was in action for a second match on Sunday, at 6 p.m. at Pitt-Bradford. The Saxons will then prepare for their five-match Spring Break trip to Orlando, FL, March 6-8.
