ROCHESTER, NY—The Alfred University men's basketball team was led by junior
Julian Reinhart (Hornell, NY/Hornell) in an 87-65 loss on the road to Nazareth College Friday evening.
Reinhart paced the Saxons with 16 points, four rebounds and two assists. Junior
Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) notched 14 points for AU while collecting three rebounds and dishing out two dimes. Senior
Jeremy Johnson (Martinsburg, WV/Martinsburg) scored 10 points in the loss.
The Golden Flyers were beneficiaries of great shooting on the night, hitting 32-of-57 (56.1%) of their shots. The Saxons nailed 25-of-70 (35.7%) of their shots from the field. In addition to solid shooting, Nazareth was able to create a presence inside the paint, creating 20 second chance points.
The Golden Flyers were led by Mitch Ford and Maurice Mills with 25 and 20 points, respectively. Mills led with 15 rebounds while Ford pulled down 13.
Junior
Eric Adams (Lebanon, NJ/Hunterdon Central) led the Saxons with eight rebounds in the matchup. Freshman
Pat McLamore (Rochester, NY/Aquinas) had three steals on the defensive end of the court.
AU (9-13, E8 5-8) remain on the road for tomorrow's game when they take on the Ithaca Bombers at 2PM.
