ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's basketball team lost against visiting Buffalo State Tuesday evening by the score of 94-77 at the Terry S. Galanis Family Arena.
The Saxons (3-3, E8 0-0), who were down by as many as 22 points, rallied to cut the deficit to 13 points at the mid-point of the second half after sophomore forward
Sage Brown (Cortland, NY/Cortland) converted on the and-one free throw to give Buffalo State the lead, 61-48. This would be the closet the Saxons would get.
Senior guard
Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) scored a team high 30 points as he connected on six of his three point shots, five of which that came in the second half.
Brown had a strong presence in the paint as he grabbed 10 rebounds for the Saxons.
Forward
Lovell Smith led the way for the Bengals as he had 22 points and guard
Nico McLean had 20 points, respectively.
The Saxons dominated once again in bench point as they outscored the Bengals bench, 38-24. The Bengals had the advantage in second chance points, 17-11.
The Saxons are next in action next Tuesday, December 6
th, as the travel to Rochester to take on RIT with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
