ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's tennis lost, 7-2, to visiting non-league foe Penn State-Behrend Friday afternoon.

With the loss, AU falls to 4-10, while Behrend improves to 10-1.
 
Senior Courtney Ferrara (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Mendon) earned the Saxons' lone point in singles play, taking sixth singles, 6-2, 6-4. Freshmen Miranda Sakala (Olean, NY/Olean) and Amber Smith claimed an 8-3 decision in third doubles for Alfred's other point.
 
AU wraps up its fall season Saturday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. at home against Utica.
